I KNOW DAT'S RIGHT
JAMIE BERGERON & THE KICKIN' CAJUNS
  Juicy Pear Productions- 2006
3 PEPPERS! A Review By Paule Pachter, January 3 , 2007

When one thinks about just how exciting Cajun music can be, one would have to think about Jamie Bergeron and The Kickin’ Cajuns. Cajun music in the hands of Jamie Bergeron becomes a little bit Country, a little bit Zydeco and a whole lot of Rock -n- Roll. Bergeron exudes style and flare and makes Cajun music extremely high energy and quite danceable. He is extremely adept at squeezing the diatonic and button row accordion similar in style to Boozoo Chavis. His twangy vocal style reminiscent of Dwight Yoakum simply adds to this pleasurable mix. Jamie Bergeron and The Kickin’ Cajuns can take traditional Cajun music and twist it similar to the way Wayne Toups does and come up with a lively sound.

Among the 14 standout tracks are: “One More Try;” “Popcorn Blues;” “Got Me Walking The Floor;” and “Dance All Night.” The members of Jamie Bergeron and The Kickin; Cajuns are: Jamie Bergeron (vocals, diatonic and button row accordions); Robbie Miller (electric guitar); Jason Bergeron (fiddle); Michael McCann (piano, organ and synthesizer) Chance Gonzales (drums); and Robbie Buller (bass guitar, background vocals).

“I Know Dat’s Right” is another impressive CD from Jamie Bergeron and The Kickin’ Cajuns that earns a three-pepper rating. You can purchase this CD directly online from the artist’s website at: www.kickincajuns.com

We greatly appreciate your support and encouragement of The Zydeco Road. Working together, we can enhance the recognition that Zydeco music and its artists so greatly deserve on Long Island and within the Metro New York area.
