GIT IT ON - GIT IT ON
T. BROUSSARD AND THE ZYDECO STEPPERS
Soulwood Records- 2003
A Review By Paule Pachter, MaY 24, 2004
Bryant Keith "T" Broussard is another standout artist in the field of young Creole-Zydeco performers that include the likes of Chris Ardoin, Keith Frank, Leroy Thomas, Sean Ardoin and a handful of others. Zydeco music runs through his veins and he counts among his lineage such talented icons as his mother Mary Jane Ardoin Broussard, and cousin Keith Frank. Broussard's musical sound is fresh and draws a great deal from his Creole heritage. On his new CD, "Git It On - Git It On" he rifles through eleven tracks filled with great accordion rhythms and commanding drum beats that are sure to make you get up on the dance floor.
Among the lively tracks featured are the title track; "Zydeco Two Step; " "Waitin For My Ya Ya;" "Creole From The Country;" "Baby Rock;" and "Don't Want You No More." The musicians featured on the CD include: T. Broussard (accordion, vocals); Eddie Sinegal (rubboard); Classie Ballou (bass); Paul Levan (drums), and Keith Frank (guitar).
T. Broussard is pounding out a unique sound on this latest release produced for Keith Frank's Soulwood Records label. A little bit renegade, and a little bit trailblazer, the young Broussard is an artist to watch who's tickin to the beat of his own clock. "Git It On - Git It On" garners a three-pepper rating and can be purchased directly from the artist's website at: www.tbroussard.com
We greatly appreciate your support and encouragement of The Zydeco Road. Working together, we can enhance the recognition that Zydeco music and its artists so greatly deserve on Long Island and within the Metro New York area.
