Et Allons Danser
  Travis Benoit
  Acadiana Records - 2005
A Review By Paule Pachter, May 25 , 2006

Young Travis Benoit from Morse, Louisiana is a young star on the rise. Travis has been picking up some trophies performing at local accordion competitions and is making a name for himself among Cajun fans. His CD entitled, “Et Allons Danser” for Acadiana Records is a neat package of traditional Cajun fare that’s delivered with a sweet musical sound and very pleasant vocals. Most of the vocal responsibilities fall to Ray Thibodeaux and Jimmy Higginbotham who both have impressive styles. Along with Benoit on the diatonic accordion, these guys radiate confidence in every one of the fifteen tracks contained on this CD.

Among the most impressive tracks are: “Allons Danser;” “I’m A Little Bit Lonesome;” “Evangeline Waltz;” “Perrodin Two-Step;” “Scott Playboy Special;” and “I Made A Big Mistake.” Benoit is backed up by a group of very capable musicians including Ray Thibodeaux (drums and vocals), Jimmy Higginbotham (bass and vocals), Mark Latiolais (rhythm guitar), Jason Frey (fiddle), and Danny Cormier (steel guitar).

“Et Allons Danser” earns three-peppers and can be purchased online at: www.louisianamusicfactory.com

We greatly appreciate your support and encouragement of The Zydeco Road. Working together, we can enhance the recognition that Zydeco music and its artists so greatly deserve on Long Island and within the Metro New York area.
