There’s nothing more musically exciting in the Zydeco Nation than getting a copy of a new CD from Sean Ardoin and Zydekool. Sean Ardoin is probably the most contemporary of the Zydeco artists recording today. With each new CD he takes the music to a higher level. No other Zydeco artist mixes hip-hop and urban soul into their music like Sean Ardoin does. It’s baffling why no urban radio station or hip-hop venue west of Louisiana has tapped into this incredible artist. His vocals on “Final Chapter … New Beginning” have never been better, the harmonies are masterfully tight, and despite the presence of an accordion this CD is clearly moving Ardoin into a new direction or perhaps a new beginning. Of the seven tracks featured on this CD sampler, four are absolute killers: “Time 2 Party;” I Can’t Go On (without you); “Make Love Inn;” and the moving “Back 2 the Sand.” The entire CD will be released sometime this year and will be available exclusively on www.ZydecoOnline.com or www.ZydecoAuthentica.com Whether it’s his music or CD distribution, Sean Ardoin is once again in control of his career and his destiny. If you’re looking for an authentic Zydeco CD “Final Chapter … New Beginnings” is not it.
